Friday, Sept. 30
When I walked out on our balcony this morning, my glasses immediately fogged up. It is very humid. There was a ship way off in the distance (looked like it was falling off the edge of the world). From there the day was pretty much the same. More sailing throughout the day, sitting around, reading, and generally taking it easy. It is very hot in the sun so we don’t spend too much time there. It is also hot and humid, no matter where we are, except in our room.
We went up to the grill for 12:15 to watch a Paul McCartney show on the big screen. It was part of his concert in New York and we really enjoyed it. Only 53 minutes of it, though, so I’m sure it is just an excerpt of the show. Great songs and it seemed like all the “old folks” on the cruise were enjoying it, too. (Dawn figures that we are below the average age of passengers on the ship, and we just may be).
Lots of people laying around the pool in the sun. I don’t know how they do it. Some are getting very red. I would suspect they have a difficult time sleeping because it must hurt a lot.

Dawn and I decided to go to see the comedian in the lounge for 8:15. We went about 7:30 so we could get a seat. That wasn’t a problem and the place didn’t even get close to being full tonight. However, it turns out that it was not the comedian, but they were having a game show like Family Feud. We left.
Got back to the room and watched some TV and then went to sleep. About 2:00, it sounded like someone was pulling chairs around on the deck above us. Then there was lots of light. We were in the middle of a great thunderstorm. Lots of banging and flashing – very loud – but no rain. We got up to look, but it was quite foggy, so the clouds must have been at sea level. Not much to see, so we went back to sleep.
